clear No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Needed a new slide-in oven and liked what this oven featured. Should have read the Q&As. It was advertised as self cleaning however it only has steam clean Steam clean really doesn't do a great job. Was going to return it for the self clean model, but the cost was $800 more. A bit disappointed. Would recommend if it was also self cleaning. Other than that, like this model.

I bought this @ 1 week ago and absolutely love the controls being in the front. I love the fact there is no back to this stove. I just recently purchased the range hood which should be in tomorrow. I thought it didn't need one, and it may not, but I prefer to have since I create a lot of steam.

I remodeled my kitchen and bought all GE slate appliances. I did thorough research before deciding on each model. After a couple of months of using the stove, the oven needed cleaning, which is when I discovered that this model only has steam clean. I was hopeful that this would be enough, but it is not. I ran the steam cycle twice, but it still did not loosen everything enough to be just wiped out. I am so disappointed in this feature. Who would have thought in this day and age of technology that I would be have to get on my hands and knees to clean an oven. I am not looking forward to the holiday usage and then cleaning.
